Natalie Fertig is a journalist based in Washington, DC. She has reported on cannabis policy and elections, and has a special interest in the way that federal policy affects rural communities, being from one herself.
Fertig has worked for several companies in many different capacities. She began her career as an intern for WNYC Radio in January 2014. In June 2014, she interned for The Miami Herald. Between October 2014 and August 2017, she worked for Village Voice, NY Daily News, NowThis News, and McClatchy Video Lab. From August 2017 to March 2019, she worked for Circa News as a videographer, multimedia journalist, and cannabis reporter. In August 2019, she began working for POLITICO as a Federal Cannabis Policy Reporter.
She received her B.S. in History from Portland State University in June of 2011, and her M.A. in Journalism CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in December of 2014.
