I was born in Massachusetts in 1986, but have lived in California since fifth grade and thus consider myself a Californian.

I moved to Malibu in 2004 to attend college at Pepperdine University, where I had a short stint as a science major, but ultimately studied public relations and marketing. Upon graduation, I moved to San Diego for a job in Public Relations. There, I met my now-husband Brian, and we got married in Temecula in 2011.

I discovered my love for writing when I started blogging in 2008. Since then, I've created and maintained my current blog, Thoughts by Natalie, which is dedicated to honest talk about beauty, style, wellness and life.

In 2011, I began writing and editing for Darling Magazine, and also served as the Director of Marketing for Wonderfully Made—a Christian-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young women know their true value so they can live outward-focused lives.

In 2012, I left my position at Wonderfully Made to become a full-time Managing Editor (and now Executive Editor) for Darling Magazine.

My husband and I currently live in north county San Diego with our very scruffy adopted puppy Maggie.

In addition to my blog and my work with Darling, I am also a contributor to Darling Magazine, The Glitter Guide and Amanda de Cadanet's The Conversation.
