Emmy & Tony Award-Winning Actor, Singer & Writer; Known for His Roles in "The Birdcage" & "The Producers"

Nathan Lane is a Tony Award-winning actor, singer, and writer known for his roles in The Birdcage and The Producers. Lane is also known for having voiced the character Timon, a meerkat, in Disney's 1994 film The Lion King. His performances in 2023's "Beau is Afraid" and "Dicks: The Musical" have also garnered critical acclaim.

Since his performance in Mike Nichols’ The Birdcage catapulted him into stardom in 1996, Lane has appeared in one memorable role after another. His portrayal of Max Bialystock in the long-running Broadway phenomenon The Producers won him the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Tony Awards for Best Actor in a Musical; for his London appearances in the same role, he was honored with the Olivier Award.

Lane has also been wildly acclaimed for his appearances on the stage in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, "(for which he picked up his first Tony), Terence McNally’s "Love! Valour! Compassion!," and "Guys and Dolls;" as well for his voiceover work in The Lion King, Stuart Little, and Mouse Hunt. In 2006, he wrote the libretto and starred in Stephen Sondheim’s hit adaptation of Aristophanes’ "The Frogs."

Lane has appeared in television shows including HBO's "Sex and the City," "Modern Family," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "30 Rock," "The Good Wife," and "The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story." He received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for the Hulu mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building in 2022.

Lane is a high-energy presence on the lecture stage, whose appearances always entertain, inspire, and leave audiences clamoring for more.
