Nathan Lawson    

Educator, Climate Justice Activist & Former President of the Oxford Climate Society

Nathan Lawson is a finalist at the University of Oxford reading BA Geography at the School of Geography and Environment. He is the alumni of the pioneering Foundation Year Oxford, an access course for disadvantaged students to enter elite universities, where he achieved distinction in Biological sciences in 2018-19.

Lawson is the Former President of the Oxford Climate Society, one of the largest student-led climate societies in the UK and has hosted events with the likes of Noam Chomsky, Mary Robinson, Vandana Shiva and Nnimmo Bassey. He runs a podcast called The Climate Breakdown, a podcast that aims to break down the barriers of the climate movement through conversations with academics and activists.

He continues to incorporate a climate justice framework into much of his academic work including Indigenous Ontologies, Environmental Geography and Geographies of the Anthropocene.
