Founding Managing Partner at Sequoia Capital China

Neil is a Founding Managing Partner of Sequoia Capital China. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital, he served as President & CFO of Ctrip.com International Limited (CTRP), the leading online travel company in China which he co-founded in 1999 and where he remains as a Director.

Neil is also a Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Home Inns (HMIN), the leading economy hotel chain in China which was spun off from Ctrip in 2003. He was voted as “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Asian Venture Journal in 2004 and one of the “top ten economic figures of the year” by CCTV in 2006. Prior to founding Ctrip, Neil was a Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets for China at Deutsche Bank where he worked from 1996 to 1999.

Prior to 1996, he worked at Chemical Bank, Lehman Brothers and Citibank in various investment banking positions. He is also a Director of Focus Media Limited (FMCN). Neil is a Director of China Entrepreneur Forum (CEF) and a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Neil has a BS from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an MA from the School of Management at Yale University.
