Yaniv “Nev” Schulman is a producer, photographer, actor and TV host known for his 2010 documentary film Catfish and its follow-up TV series “Catfish: The TV Show,” which aired on MTV.

Catfish followed Schulman as he fell in love with a woman he met online only to find out the woman was not who she said she was. “Catfish: The TV Show” on the other hand depicts real couples who have found love online but have yet to meet in person.

Schulman is also the author of a book, “In Real Life: Love, Lies & Identity in the Digital Age (2014),” in which he gives observations gleaned from his work on the “Catfish” show and film.

In September 2020, Schulman was announced as one of the celebrities competing on the 29th season of Dancing with the Stars.
