Nick Gowitzka has spent his entire life in the Outer Banks. Raised by a fisherman father, Nick, who is a self-described "crazy redneck", went directly from the halls of high school to the harbor docks, where he started working as a deckhand on commercial fishing boats.

After a few years learning the trade, Nick's work ethic and positive attitude helped him quickly graduate to first mate. Nick joined Greg on Fishin' Frenzy in 2012 when, just days before the bluefin season opened, the boats regular first mate suddenly dropped out. The Frenzy went on to have its best bluefin season ever.

Nick has great pride in the boats success and he is known across the fleet for screaming the boats name at the dock and out on the water. Nick likes to tease rival captain Reed Meredith every chance he gets.

Nick's pride and joy are the two ladies in his life - his fiance Chrissy Moore and five-year-old daughter Gwyn. An avid hunting enthusiast, Nick's passion for the outdoors helps him to literally put food on his family's table. Nick has high hopes that the bluefin end-of-season paycheck is bountiful so he can throw his bride-to-be the wedding of her dreams.
