After graduating college at 19, Handel eventually landed at Airbnb in 2014 to focus on its early growth efforts before developing Trips, one of Airbnb's biggest product launches in 2016. Handel then switched to product management and now leads Airbnb's Machine Learning teams, helping build artificial intelligence into all of its services -- a key strategy for the $31 billion startup, which is tasked with ranking millions of listings based on guests unique preferences.

In 2018, he moved to a career at Branch International, a company that applies machine learning to create an algorithmic approach to determine credit worthiness via customers' smartphones.

Handel also was featured on the 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 list in Consumer Technology.
