Nick Kroll is an actor and comedian who is celebrated for his diverse portfolio in the entertainment industry. One of his notable achievements is the creation and starring role in the Comedy Central series "Kroll Show," "The Oh, Hello Show," and the FX comedy series "The League." Kroll has also made significant contributions to Hulu's sketch comedy series "History of the World, Part II," and was instrumental in the creation and casting of the animated Netflix series "Big Mouth," in which he also stars, and its spin-off "Human Resources." His acting prowess has been demonstrated in films such as "Adult Beginners," "Sausage Party," "Loving," "Sing," "Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie," and "Don't Worry Darling."
Kroll's comedic genius has not gone unnoticed: he was awarded the Breakout Star of the Year award at the 2013 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He further showcased his talent on stage alongside John Mulaney in "Oh, Hello," where both actors portrayed the characters Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland, respectively. The show, which premiered on Broadway in 2016 and ran for six months, received positive reviews and was later filmed and released on Netflix in 2017. Kroll and Mulaney released the first season of their podcast, OH, HELLO: The P’dcast, in Spring 2020.
In addition to his acting, Kroll has also made a mark in the literature space, co-authoring "Bar Mitzvah Disco" in 2005 with Jules Shell and Roger Bennett. His talent also extends to hosting, having presided over the 32nd and 33rd Independent Spirit Awards. His performances have earned him nominations for awards, including a Denver Film Critics Society Award, an Annie Award for Voice Acting, and a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Series – Long Form for "Big Mouth." In 2019, he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program for "Big Mouth."
