Nicky Jam

Grammy Winning Reggaeton Singer-Songwriter, Actor & Owner of La Industria Bakery

One of the most prolific artists in reggaeton and Latin trap, Nick Rivera Caminero, known as Nicky Jam, is a charting, award-winning singer and songwriter who has collaborated with a long list of performers, including superstars such as Daddy Yankee, Farruko, J Balvin, and dozens of others in addition to his solo material. Known for his Latin rhythm songs, Jam sings reggaeton, a music style which originated in Puerto Rico and is influenced by hip-hop, Latin American and Caribbean music. Jam won a 2015 Grammy Award in the category of Best Urban Performance, for his song “El Perdón,” and was nominated for the Best Urban Music Album for Greatest Hits Volume 1. His hit 2017 album, Fénix, was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year. He is best known for his hits such as “Travesuras,” “Hasta El Amanecer,” “El Perdon” ft. Enrique Iglesias and “Felix” which have won awards at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Billboard Latin Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards.

Born in 1981 in Boston, as a boy he moved with his family to Puerto Rico. There, he showed an interest in music, often rapping at the grocery store where he worked which attracted the attention of the wife of a recording director of Puerto Rico. At the age of 11, he recorded his first album Diferente a Los Demás (Different From the Rest), which attracted the attention of DJs and street artists on the island. At that time a homeless man called him “Nicky Jam” in the form of a joke, and from there the singer took his stage name. In the early 2000’s, Nicky Jam and Daddy Yankee formed an unofficial duo called Los Cangri, but unfortunately due to Jam's drug and alcohol addiction, they separated in 2004. Jam's difficult journey from Puerto Rico to international stardom was documented in "El Ganador," an American biographical television series based on Jam's life. The 13 episode series premiered in 2018 on Telemundo and is available on Netflix. He also played a villain in the Bad Boys sequel titled Bad Boys for Life alongside Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, which premiered in 2020.

Jam opened a Latin bakery in Miami named La Industria Bakery, which has stunning stacks of pancakes and over 250k followers on Instagram.
