Nicole Byer

Emmy-Nominated Comedian, Actress & Writer; Co-Host of "Wipeout"

Nicole Byer is one of the most versatile voices in the comedy landscape today. An actor, comedian, writer, author, and podcaster, she is perhaps most well-known as the host of Netflix's Emmy-nominated competition baking series "Nailed It!", which gained a cult following since its premiere on the streaming platform in 2018. Byer made history by becoming the first Black woman to be nominated in the category of Outstanding Host for A Reality or Competition Program. She can also be seen co-hosting TBS' reboot of fan favorite "Wipeout" alongside John Cena.

Byer lends her voice to characters in "Invincibles," "The Pole," "Tuca & Bertie", and as Lucy Carmichael in the reboot of Nickelodeon’s "Rugrats" on Paramount+. She also stars in Netflix's animated series "Bad Crimes" and NBC’s comedy series "Grand Crew". The latter follows a group of Black friends navigating life and love at a wine bar. Byer has also made notable guest appearances on shows like "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "The View," and "Peace of Mind with Taraji." Her prolific film and television work includes roles in "Lady Dynamite," "Brooklyn 99," "The Unicorn," "Black Lady Sketch Show," "BoJack Horseman," and "30 Rock."

Listeners can hear Byer on five different podcasts, with "Why Won't You Date Me?" as a standout, where she invites friends and guests to discuss their dating lives while exploring her own. Other podcasts include "Best Friends!" with Sasheer Zamata, "Newcomers" with Lauren Lapkus, "90 Day Bae" with Marcy Jarreau, and "The Grand Crew." She is a two-time consecutive winner of the iHeartRadio Podcast Award for “Best Female Host.” Her book, "#VERYFAT #VERYBRAVE: The Fat Girl's Guide to Being #Brave and Not a Dejected, Melancholy, Down-in-the-Dumps Weeping Fat Girl in a Bikini," published in June 2020, offers insights into embracing one's body and becoming a #brave badass. Byer's work significantly promotes justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI), focusing on topics such as adapting to new realities, arts & culture, and diversity.
