Nigel Crisp
member of the House of Lords and works mainly on international development and global health
is an independent crossbench member of the House of Lords and works mainly on international development and global health. His new book is Turning the World Upside Down: The Search for Global Health in the 21st Century (Royal Society of Medicine Press, 2010) argues for mutual learning between rich and poor countries and shows how this will shape health care in the future. Previously, Crisp was both CEO of the National Health Service, the largest health organization in the world, and permanent secretary of the Department of Health, where he led major reforms in the English health system.
