Nikki Reed is an actress, singer-songwriter, screenwriter, model and founder and CEO of the eco-sustainable lifestyle brand Bayou with Love (BYL). Reed launched BYL in 2017 with a mission to create socially conscious, sustainable, fashionable apparel, accessories and lifestyle products.
Reed first broke into Hollywood by co-writing and starring in the critically acclaimed independent feature film Thirteen, which was directed by Catherine Hardwick. (directed by Catherine Hardwick). The film is loosely based on her life growing up in Los Angeles. Reed became a household name when Hardwick selected her to star as Rosalie Hale in the Twilight film franchise.
Reed's film appearances also include roles in A Sunday Horse, Pawn alongside Forest Whitaker, Ray Liotta and Common, Empire State with Liam Hemsworth, Michael Angarano, and Dwayne Johnson, Catch .44, Lords of Dogtown alongside Heath Ledger and Emile Hirsch and Man of God.
In 2016, Reed played the role of Betsy Ross in the third season of the hit FOX drama "Sleepy Hollow." Reed also appeared on "The O.C." as Sadie Campbell.
In 2016, Reed and husband Ian Somerhalder inked a pod deal for their production company, Rare Birds Productions, with Warner Brothers – in addition to themselves they have two full-time executives at the company housed on the WB lot. Reed also had the opportunity to direct ESPN’s Think Normal, a Nine for IX Short centered around autism, which Reed's younger brother has.
Reed is a talented indie-folk singer-songwriter who released her first EP, titled The Best Part, in 2012 and album, I’m Not Falling, in 2014. She has recently self-produced her third album.
Reed is a passionate supporter of women, the environment and animal rights. Reed is the VP of Fundraising for ISF, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation. They participated together in the National Geographic special Years of Living Dangerously, and Reed has since dedicated herself to educating people on climate change through her social media each Sunday.
