Nikolay Halov  

Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance

Nikolay Halov joined New York University Stern School of Business as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance in July 2012.

Professor Halov's research interests are in corporate finance, capital structure, corporate governance and valuation. His recent work studies the effect of risk and changes of risk on the capital structures of the firm and the valuation of restructuring dual-class firms.

Professor Halov is a member of the American Finance Association, the Western Finance Association and the Financial Management Association, and is the recipient of the Xia Yihong best paper award from the China International Finance Conference.

Prior to joining NYU Stern, Professor Halov was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Rady School, University of California, San Diego. There, he taught undergraduate, full-time MBA and executive MBA courses on corporate finance, investments and valuation.

Professor Halov received a B.S. in Economics from Sofia University in Bulgaria and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Finance from NYU Stern.
