Nina Burleigh
Nina Burleigh is the author of four critically acclaimed nonfiction books, and a journalist who has covered American politics and culture for 25 years. She has traveled extensively in the Middle East and Europe, and lived in paris and Italy with her famil
Nina Burleigh has had a colorful, wildly adventurous and varied life and career, is a happily married working mother, and is an entertaining speaker and author. She has appeared on numerous radio and television programs including Good Morning America, All Things Considered, and Chris Matthews and elsewhere. She teaches narrative nonfiction writing at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Burleigh currently lives and works in the dreamy and mysterious ancient hill town of Perugia, Italy, where she has put her children in the school system, after leaving a job as human interest writer for People Magazine in New York to write another book for Broadway Books.
Burleigh has lectured all over the country and in Mexico, most recently on the subject of her latest book, Unholy Business, a true tale of how modern science is being used to support the curious world of biblical relic trade and forgery. Her book Mirage, published in 2008, was selected by the New York Times as an editors' choice and won the Society of Women Educators' Award in 2008.
She returns to New York in December 2009.
