Nina Simon has been described as a museum visionary by Smithsonian Magazine for her participatory approach to audience engagement. She is the Executive Director of The Museum of Art & History in Santa Cruz, CA, a small museum that has gone through a dramatic transformation to become a community gathering place.

Nina teaches in the University of Washington Museology graduate program and is the author of The Participatory Museum (2010) and the popular Museum 2.0 blog. Previously, Nina worked as an independent consultant to more than 100 museums and cultural centers around the world, focusing on interactive community engagement. Nina served as curator at The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, CA, and was the Experience Development Specialist at the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC.
