Nora Yang is director of portfolio management and strategic operations at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, National Institutes of Health. She is responsible for planning, identifying and managing collaborative partnerships, developing new business models to improve efficiency and effectiveness of translational sciences, building portfolio and project management capabilities, and implementing best practices for managing public and private partnerships. Yang led the initiative of building and managing drug development for rare and neglected diseases within NCATS, which has taken five investigational drugs into clinical trials in four years. Seven portfolio assets have reached commercial exits with a collective deal value of $1.2 billion. Prior to NIH, Yang led teams to develop novel therapeutics at Eli Lilly & Co. and Amgen Inc. She holds a master's degree in business management from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, San Diego.
