Award-Winning Educator, Development Practitioner & Social Innovator

Dr. Norby Roque Salonga is a Filipino educator, social innovator, and development practitioner. He is the Founding Director of De La Salle University's award-winning Lasallian Social Enterprise for Economic Development (LSEED) Center which he helped develop in 2015, initially as a social engagement initiative before it became a university center. He also teaches social entrepreneurship in the same university and is a guest lecturer of Thammasat University (Thailand) under the Faculty of Social Administration.

As a development practitioner, he led and handled the implementation of various programs in sectors of transportation, education, health, and local economic development with support from international organizations and funding agencies.

Currently, he also serves as a Young Southeast Asian leadership Initiative (YSEALI) Professional Fellow for Economic Empowerment of the U.S. Department of State and American Council for International Education, Global Coach of Underdogs South Korea, and was the first Visiting Partner from ASEAN and the Philippines at the University of York (United Kingdom). He is the chairperson of the National Association of Social Enterprise Educators and Administrators, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia, Founder of The WHY, and Founding President of YOUTeacH Philippines.

Dr. Salonga is currently taking up his Doctor in Sustainability at the University of the Philippines (Open University). He completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Philippine Studies with specialization in Development Studies and Asian Studies at the University of the Philippines Diliman with distinction as a President Lister/University Scholar, where he also obtained his degree in community development. He is a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) as awarded by the International Federation of Professional Managers United Kingdom. Dr. Salonga completed a Diploma Course on Strategic Management of Intellectual Property from De La Salle University and Economy of Francesco from the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.

Dr. Salonga is also a recipient of several awards including Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year of ACEEU in Barcelona Spain, Asia Pacific Engagement Leader of the Year (Top 5) of ACEEU in Kochi India, Commendation from Work Together Foundation in Seoul South Korea, Gat Apolinario Mabini Awards, Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines, CHED and RFM, Manila Philippines, and President of the Year (3rd place) by the Junior Achievement, Manila Philippines
