Norma Kamali is known as an innovator and a pioneer in fashion. She has a timeless theme in all of her work. Her career in fashion began in 1967. Norma has won multiple awards for fashion, architecture, interior designs and film. As a multifaceted designer with interests in and beyond fashion, she has done photography, films, furniture, fragrance, a beauty line and the no makeup, makeup concept. The wellness collection is a step forward beyond inside outside beauty as a complete lifestyle of diet, fintess and overall wellness techniques.

Norma's designs appeal to a broad audience: from mainstream to edgy, editorial looks. Many celebrities have worn her designs. From the start of her career to present day: Raquel Welch, Cher, Farrah Fawcett, Madonna, Beyonce and Lady Gaga are just a few examples.

She has designed defining costumes for multiple film and dance productions such as the Emerald City sequence of Sidney Lumet's The Wiz and Twyla Tharp's transformative work, In the Upper Room.

Norma's study of anatomy led her to her initial career aspiration for painting. These skills created a trademark for her ability to reimagine swimwear as sculpture for the human form. Norma is known internationally as a force in the swimwear industry. She constantly seeks adventure in the new age of fashion and technology, but is also a hands-on designer.

Norma loves communicating by using technology. Her recent 3D films and 3D video product pages on her website are perfect examples of her pioneering work. Her interest in technology started in the '60s working on a univac computer at an airline. She currently participates in an augmented and virtual reality concepts that can be applied to education and entertainment, as well as fashion.

Serving the community through programs for children and education has been an important part of Norma's life for the last 18 plus years. Her interest in advancing women's empowerment and self esteem run in parallel with her entire career and her new collection, Kamalikulture, is a platform for this goal.
