is chief content officer of Bloomberg L.P., where he seeks growth opportunities for Bloomberg's television, radio, magazine, and online products. Prior to Bloomberg, Pearlstine was senior advisor to The Carlyle Group. Previously, Pearlstine was editor-in-chief of Time Inc. before becoming a senior advisor to Time Warner. Prior to Time, Pearlstine worked for The Wall Street Journal for more than 20 years—most recently as executive editor. The American Society of Magazine Editors gave Pearlstine its Lifetime Achievement Award and inducted him into the Magazine Editors’ Hall of Fame. He was honored with the Loeb Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism, and received the National Press Foundation’s Editor of the Year Award. Pearlstine is author of Off the Record: The Press, the Government, and the War over Anonymous Sources (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2007).
