I am currently employed as a lecturer at the University of South Africa. I completed my BCom (Hons) of degree in Communication Management at the University of Pretoria in 2011 and am currently enrolled for my Masters in Commerce at the University of South Africa (UNISA). Being in possession of a formal qualification has broadened my horizons in terms of understanding the pivotal role the academia plays in the advancement and development of a nation. The work done by the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers is something of great interest to me as someone who understands the challenges faced by not only the youth of South Africa but the world as a whole. It is in academics that I feel like I can make a meaningful contribution.
