Nworah Ayogu, MD, is the Head of Health Care Impact at Thrive Capital, a a venture capital investment firm, where he focuses exclusively on healthcare. Previously, Dr. Ayogu was Chief Medical Officer and General Manager of Amazon Clinic and the founding Medical Director for CityBlock Health, a start-up delivering holistic care to vulnerable populations.

He has worked with governments, payers, and health systems to improve access and quality of care, and has published research in multiple journals including the New England Journal of Medicine. In addition, he serves as a member of the White House Health Equity round table and has held faculty appointments at Harvard University and New York University. Dr. Ayogu was named among Business Insider’s 30 Under 40 in Health Care and Modern Healthcare’s most influential clinical executives. 

Dr. Ayogu obtained his MD from Harvard Medical School and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He trained in Internal Medicine at Columbia University and is a board-certified internist.
