Oscar Goodman is a lawyer and politician. He is widely known for being a "mob lawyer" and represented many notorious gangsters over the span of his career. He later turned to politics and became the Mayor of Las Vegas, Nevada. He has also appeared in minor roles in several Hollywood movies, usually playing the mayor of Las Vegas.

As a defense attorney, Goodman represented defendants accused of being some of the leading organized crime figures in Las Vegas. He also represented former San Diego Mayor Roger Hedgecock, who was convicted of accepting illegal campaign contributions and eventually forced to resign. Hedgecock was later cleared of all charges on appeal.

Goodman has served as president of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and currently serves as the Host Committee Chairman of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

In 1999 Goodman was elected mayor of Las Vegas for the first time. He was re-elected for a consecutive second and third term, in 2003 and 2007 respectively.
