An avid athlete and senior Olympic triathlete, Dr. Peeke is a living example of the healthy living message she advocates, often described as the doctor who truly “walks the talk.” She extends this passion to others through her Peeke Performance Center for Healthy Living™, where she offers lifestyle coaching programs encompassing weight management and holistic health. In addition to her writing and television work, Dr. Peeke is a prominent medical commentator on national networks including CNN, Good Morning America, and the NBC Today show. She is a Pew Foundation Scholar in Nutrition and Metabolism, and holds the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her academic and professional accolades include being the first senior research fellow at the National Institutes of Health Office of Alternative Medicine, contributing to foundational research in integrative health practices.

A native of San Francisco and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Peeke received her Masters Degree in Public Health and Public Policy before earning her medical degree at Michigan. Her training in internal medicine was completed at George Washington University Medical Center, followed by a prestigious post-doctoral scholarship in Nutrition and Metabolism from the University of California at Davis, which led to her groundbreaking work at the National Institutes of Health.
