She is as an Ambassador for the Conscious Capitalism Institute, an advisor to Dallas-based social equity firm, Satori Capital, and serves on the Vail Leadership Institute’s Board of Scholars.

Aburdene's journalism career began at Forbes magazine in 1978. She was a Public Policy Fellow at Radcliffe College and holds a BA in philosophy from Newton College of the Sacred Heart (now Boston College), a MS in library science from Catholic University and three honorary doctorates.
