Patricia won the title of Miss Universe Spain 2013, gaining the right to represent Spain at Miss Universe 2013 in Moscow, Russia.

Rodríguez represented Spain at Miss Universe 2013 on November 9, 2013 where she competed to succeed Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo of USA, eventually finishing as first runner-up to María Gabriela Isler of Venezuela (her roommate). She is only the second Spanish woman to place first runner-up.
