Born in Vancouver, Canada, Schwerdtfeger received his Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing and Finance) from Carleton University in Ottawa in 1993. At the age of 27, he moved to Los Angeles just six days after receiving his first American passport. Schwerdtfeger now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
