Pau Garcia

Media Designer; CEO & Co-Founder of Domestic Data Streamers

Pau Garcia is the co-founder and CEO of Domestic Data Streamers, which has spent the last decade at the forefront of blending data with design and participative art, turning the abstract -- numbers, spreadsheets, databases -- into tangible experiences. In this role, he has led the design studio in experimental research, communication, and design projects for cultural institutions and organizations, such as the United Nations, California Academy of Sciences, TED, and Spotify, bringing digital and physical projects to live in over 50 countries.

Garcia has worked on projects for the REcall European Conflict Archeological Landscape Reappropriation in Germany and Norway and done research and design projects in Spain, France, Italy, and the USA. In 2013, he received the M4M European Prize that brought him to design a project for the European Design Institute where he developed a series of cartographic systems. It led to an exhibition at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan and the book "Exitium Milano," opening a new approach to data visualization and info-experiences.

Garcia is also chair of the Master in Data in Design program at ELISAVA University and the founder and resident of HeyHuman!, an artist residency program that combines music, journalism, data art research and social justice.
