Paul Carrillo is Co-founder and Executive Director of Southern California Crossroads, and has worked to save young lives affected by gangs and drugs for the past ten years. Paul also serves as the Injury Prevention Coordinator at St. Francis Medical Center - Trauma Department, working with individuals who have suffered gunshot or stab wounds as a result of gang violence.

He was raised on the streets of Los Angeles, in an environment full of drugs, abuse, gangs, violence, and poverty. Paul joined a gang at the age of fifteen and spent the next several years actively involved in gang lifestyle, in and out of jail. Paul spent a year in the L.A. County Jail fighting a life sentence, and eventually changed his outlook on life once the charges were dropped.

He is now a certified addiction counsellor, youth and gang violence intervention specialist, and substance abuse education instructor. He provides prevention, intervention, and re-entry services in juvenile detention facilities, county jails, schools, hospitals, on the streets in Los Angeles, and throughout southern California.
