Actor, Writer & Stand-Up Comedian Known for Portraying Paul Buchman in "Mad About You"

A seasoned actor, writer, and stand-up comedian, Paul Reiser continues to add to his list of accomplishments. He is known for his roles as Michael Taylor in the 1980s sitcom "My Two Dads," Paul Buchman in the NBC sitcom "Mad About You," Modell in the 1982 film Diner, and Carter Burke in the 1986 film Aliens.

In addition to co-creating and starring in the critically acclaimed television series, "Mad About You," which garnered him Emmy, Golden Globe, American Comedy Award and Screen Actors Guild nominations for Best Actor in a Comedy Series, Reiser is also a successful published author. He has written several successful books, including "Couplehood," which is about the ups and downs of being in a committed relationship; "Babyhood," which delves into his experiences as a first-time father; and "Familyhood," a collection of humorous essays. Reiser is a successful comedian as well and, in 2004, ranked 77th on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Best Stand-Ups of All Time.

Born and raised in New York City, Reiser went to college at the State University of New York at Binghamton where he majored in Music - Piano and Composition. (He co-wrote "The Final Frontier," which served as the theme song for "Mad About You").

Reiser currently stars in Netflix's "Stranger Things" as Dr. Sam Owens, a high-ranking staffer at the U.S. Department of Energy. In 2019, "Mad About You" was picked up for a limited-series revival.
