Peter joined UNC Kenan-Flagler in 2008 as the assistant director of Leadership Development. He was promoted to associate director in 2009 and appointed as lecturer in 2012. He provides a diverse array of leadership development experiences for BSBA, MBA, EMBA, MBA@UNC and MAC students. He has expanded offerings of self-assessments for individuals and teams; initiated the re-design and enhancement of a multi-rater assessment for diverse student groups; provided workshops for staff development; and is the program director for a team of second-year MBA Leadership Coaches that he launched. Peter has introduced the "Visual Self-Portrait" as a tool to link strengths, passions and interests and has incorporated StrengthsFinder across all programs. Peter also is a lecturer and coach for UNC Kenan-Flagler's Executive Development Program. He is in his second two-year term as executive director of the MBA Career Services for Working Professionals Alliance, which he co-founded, and includes coaching and career services professionals for the fully employed, from leading international business schools.

Before joining UNC Kenan-Flagler, Peter was an associate director with the Career Management Center at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, where he developed and directed the design and delivery of all career services for its Executive MBA Programs and alumni. He developed an intensive assessment and feedback process based on his "Visual Self-Portrait". He managed the selection and training for its MBA Career Fellows Program.

Peter was a senior program associate with the Center for Creative Leadership and completed its program for approved feedback coaches; a vice president of organizational effectiveness for a diversified $100 million company; and a principal in consulting firms based in Canada and the United States, focused on assessment, training, executive coaching and consultation. He was a member of an international faculty for a Fortune 500 company, where he designed and delivered leadership development workshops for high-potential managers in Canada and Switzerland.

Peter lived and worked in Toronto for over 20 years where he held clinical and counseling positions, which he leveraged in his consulting work with Pricewaterhouse Coopers and KPMG. He was an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the University of Western Ontario. He earned a PhD in counseling psychology and a masters degree in counseling from the University of Miami, and an MBA and BA in economics from St. Johns University. He is a licensed psychologist and has received a Certificate of Professional Qualifications in Psychology (CPQ) from the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards and a Certificate in Human Resources Management from Duke University.
