Peter Fertig brought together Major League Baseball and the National Baseball Hall of Fame with the United States Navy and Marine Corps all the while honoring the 37 National Baseball Hall of Fame Players that served in WWII, including Bob Feller, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Hank Greenberg, Stan Musial and others educating the younger generation about the honor, courage and commitment of the greatest generation. He created an award that honors the three components of Bob Feller's life. He was a member of Major League Baseball, a United States Navy Chief Petty Officer and a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Peter has spoken at the National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, and the United States Navy Memorial with many high profile dignitaries including Secretaries of the Navy, Admirals, Generals and high ranking Baseball greats including Yogi Berra, Tommy Lasorda, Rod Carew, George Brett, Tom Seaver and Johnny Bench from the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He has worked closely with the Award and Major League Baseball players including Justin Verlander, Nick Swisher, Jonathan Lucroy, Brad Ziegler, Darren O'Day and Sean Doolitle. The little foundation he has created with the help of many great Americans works with the United States Navy and Marine Corps helping make our country a little Stronger.
