Academy Award-Winning Director & Illustrator Known for "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse"

Peter Ramsey is an award-winning illustrator, director and storyboard artist. He has been a storyboard artist since the late 1980s, working on a number of films across multiple genres. He created storyboards for Minority Report, Fight Club, Men in Black, Sausage Party, A Wrinkle in Time, and many more well-known films.

Ramsey made his directorial debut in 2012 with the animated action-adventure film Rise of the Guardians, making him the first African American to direct a big budget animated feature film. The film was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film.

He also co-directed the critically acclaimed animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2019. The film received widespread praise from the film industry and comic book fans. It went on to win the award for Best Animated Feature Film at the 91st Annual Academy Awards. Ramsey is the first African American filmmaker to receive the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film.

He was also the executive producer of "Hair Love," which won Best Animated Short Film at the 92nd Academy Awards.
