Peter Rothstein  

President, New England Clean Energy Council

Peter Rothstein is president of the New England Clean Energy Council and leads the New England Clean Energy Foundation. He oversees NECEC's and NECEF's widely recognized regional innovation cluster strategy and initiatives. Rothstein has more than 20 years of venture, entrepreneurial, executive and deal experience in the clean-tech venture and high-tech markets. Previously, he was with Flagship Ventures, a seed- and early-stage venture capital firm in Cambridge, Mass. He also founded Allegro Strategy, serving as a consultant, advisor and executive with clean-tech startups. Rothstein has been in early-stage deal or executive roles with clean-tech companies including Mascoma, Planar Energy Devices, Ze-gen, Novomer, Boston-Power and Mechanology. He is also actively involved in leading clean-tech and entrepreneurial organizations, including as a member of the National Renewable Energy Lab's VC Advisory Board and the board of the Cleantech Open. Rothstein is a "catalyst" for MIT Deshpande Center solar and energy storage projects.
