MIT Senior Lecturer, Founder of SoL, Author of "The Fifth Discipline"

Peter Senge, PhD is a Senior Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Founding Chair of the Society for Organizational Learning (SoL), a global network of organizations, researchers, and consultants committed to the “interdependent development of people and their institutions.” He also co-founded the Academy for Systemic Change, which aims to accelerate the growth of the field of systemic change worldwide.

Senge's work focuses on decentralizing the role of leadership in organizations to enhance the capacity of all people to work productively toward common goals. His approach involves major cross-sector projects on global food systems, climate change, regenerative economies, and the future of education, emphasizing the importance of vision, purpose, reflectiveness, and systems thinking. His influential book, "The Fifth Discipline: The Art and Practice of the Learning Organization," has sold over a million copies worldwide and was highlighted by Harvard Business Review as one of the seminal management books of the past 75 years.

He has co-authored several fieldbooks, including "The Fifth Discipline Fieldbook: Strategies and Tools for Building a Learning Organization" and "The Dance of Change: The Challenges to Sustaining Momentum in Learning Organizations," and his recent publication on sustainability, "The Necessary Revolution." Recognized by the Journal of Business Strategy as one of the 24 people who had the greatest influence on business strategy over the last 100 years and listed as one of the world's top management gurus by the Financial Times, Senge has made significant contributions to understanding economic and organizational change.
