Peter Zemsky is Professor of Strategy at INSEAD. He teaches the core competitive strategy course in the MBA and eMBA program. His executive teaching and consulting areas are competitive strategy, industry evolution, value innovation and action learning. Professor Zemsky's research develops rigorous treatments of verbal theories in the traditional strategy literature. Specific areas of focus are the sustainability of competitive advantage, time-based competition, the choice of generalist versus focused strategies, and the determinants of resource rents. His research has appeared in the American Economic Review, the RAND Journal of Economics and the Strategic Management Journal. He received his Ph.D. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1995 and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988.
