Among the ranks of professional speakers, trainers and consultants, Philip D. Steffen is one of the most "sought-after" in the world. He formed his first business, Steffen Associates, in 1976. In 1987, he established The Bottom Line Group, an international consulting firm. He is one of the few professional speakers in the world to have received BOTH the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation and the Council of Peers Award of Excellence (CPAE) from the National Speakers Association. As a speaker, he has paid his dues, giving over seven hundred presentations in the corporate world before forming his own firm. An accomplished writer and interview subject, Phil regularly contributes to numerous trade and professional publications. Phil has appeared on television and radio programs in over twenty countries.

He is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University (with highest honors) and attended graduate school at Southern Illinois University and additional graduate courses at the University of Arizona and the University of Georgia.
