Editor Covering Tech Startups & Venture Capital at Fortune Magazine; Former CNN Feature Producer & USA Today Community Manager

Polina Marinova has been an editor at Fortune since 2014. Polina joined Fortune Magazine as the Audience Engagement Editor. She then transitioned to Deputy Editor of Fortune Venture, a section focused on early stage startups. Polina was also the host of a popular Facebook Live series called "Founder Friday" for Fortune. Now, Polina is Associate Editor at Fortune Magazine, covering tech startups and venture capital. Recently, Polina took over Term Sheet, Fortune's daily newsletter on deals and dealmakers.

Prior to working at Fortune, Marinova served as a Social Media Editor at OZY, a media startup based in Mountain View. There, she revamped OZY’s social media presence by implementing and executing a new digital strategy.

Previously, Marinova was a producer at CNN. Her roles included reporting feature articles on fitness, dating and working from home, all of which made the main page of CNN.com and garnered millions of page views; fact-checking iReport submissions, growing sources and producing call-to-actions to develop into features; and created photo galleries to support CNN’s living, entertainment, technology, travel and health sections.

Before CNN, Martinova was a Community Manager at USA Today. There she managed a network of contributors and created timely topics to encourage users to submit photos and videos to USA Today's “Your Take”.

Marinova also served as the editor-in-chief of The Red & Black Newspaper at the University of Georgia. She directed an editorial staff to produce daily content for the website as well as breaking news and investigative stories for the weekly newspaper. She also forged relationships with university and community leaders as the public face of the organization.
