Pranjal Sharma is an economic analyst, advisor, and author who focuses on technology, globalization, inclusive growth, and media. He serves on boards of enterprises and non-profit entities that are leveraging emerging technologies for sustainable, equitable growth.

Sharma leads public discourse at global and national platforms, including the World Economic Forum, St Gallen Symposium, Horasis Global Meeting, and AIMA. He served as a member of the Global Agenda Council at the WEF for eight years. He is a member of its expert network and a regular speaker at Davos.

Sharma also guides projects on economic forecasting, business intelligence, & public diplomacy to interpret policy impact on industry and society. He has written, edited, and co-authored several reports, papers on economic development, and books like "The Next New: Navigating the Fifth Industrial Revolution," "India Automated: How the Fourth Industrial Revolution Transforming India," "Kranti Nation: India and The Fourth Industrial Revolution," and "The Z Factor."

Sharma is a columnist with Business Standard newspaper and BusinessWorld magazine among other publications. He has served as Advisor Strategy to India's public service broadcaster Prasar Bharati (Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India), where he helped bring in industry best practices and enabled the creation of digital media teams.

Previously, he spent more than two decades in print, internet, and TV media, mostly in leadership roles with a focus on India’s economic engagement with the world. He was the Founding Executive Editor at Bloomberg UTV, where he helped launch and run the channel. His work in TV Today Network pioneered business news content for non-English audiences. Sharma received the News Television Award for best business show in 2007. He lives in New Delhi, India.
