Prof. Henri J. Nijdam  

Chairman of Le Nouvel Economiste

Henri Nijdam is publisher and editorial managing director of Le nouvel Economiste, the french weekly newspaper. He studied at the College des Jésuites at Marseille and the University of Aix-en-Provence, and obtained his Master degree in Economics. For around 9 years he was a professor at d'Etudes politiques de Paris on Marketing & Communications.

In the 70s he began his career with several marketing positions. He started as brand manager at Colgate Palmolive. In 1976 he became managing director at Interdéco, in 1979 he became European Marketing Director at United Biscuits.

After approximately 10 years of marketing experience, he co-founded in 1984 LBO France, one of the leading private equity funds in France. Leveraged Buy-Out (LBO) France focuses on funding large operations. In the mean time, he founded Marketing Finance SA and acquired his first business-to-business magazine, 'Stratégies'.

He, then, established two groups, Capital Media SA and Media Capital SA, and published and/or contributed to develop in France, Italy and Portugal several b-to-b and b-to-c newspapers, newsmagazines, magazines and directories, such as Capital Finance, La revue du Vin de France, L'Eperon, Votre Beauté, Coiffure de Paris, Mariages, Le Trombinoscope, O' Independente, Diario Economico, Expansao, Valor, Briefing, Pubblicita Italia, etc. In the meantime, he was judge in the commercial Court of Paris (2000-2002). He took control of Le nouvel Economiste for the second time in 2003.

In 1990 he founded the Capital Media Group. Capital Media Group is a publisher specialized in publishing several types of magazines of the press like Capital Finance, la revue vinicole, la revue du vin de France, L’Eperon, du Nouvel Economiste, Votre Beauté, Coiffure de Paris and Mariages. After being President for seven years and in the meanwhile be a part of the redaction of Le Nouvel Economiste, he steps over to Le Nouvel Economiste to became the Editor.
