Rapper, Singer-Songwriter & Record Producer Known for "Congratulations," "I'm the One" & "Go Off"; Gun Violence Prevention Advocate & Founder, The Rocket Foundation
Quavo, a rapper, singer-songwriter, and record producer, emerged as a significant figure in the hip-hop industry as the lead member of the group Migos, which was active from 2008-2023. With numerous accomplishments under his belt, Quavo has demonstrated his versatility in the music industry by delivering chart-topping singles such as "Congratulations" and "I'm the One" and showcasing his artistry in his solo projects. His debut solo album, "Quavo Huncho," released in 2018, featured collaborations with prominent artists like 21 Savage, Drake, and Madonna and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. His subsequent album, "Rocket Power," released in 2023 in memory of his nephew and fellow Migos member, Takeoff, reached number 18 on the same chart.
Besides his successful music career, Quavo has also made his mark in the film and television industry. He has made appearances in films such as "Savage Salvation" and "Praise This," and his song "Go Off" was included in "The Fate of the Furious: The Album." His television debut was in the series "Atlanta," and he has since appeared in shows like "Black-ish" and "Narcos: Mexico." Additionally, Quavo has demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit as a partial owner of the FCF Glacier Boyz in the Fan Controlled Football League.
Quavo's contributions to music haven't gone unnoticed. His accolades include the MVP Award at the 2018 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, an award for Favorite Song – Rap/Hip-Hop at the American Music Awards, and a nomination for Best Hip-Hop Video at the MTV Video Music Awards. In 2022, he and Takeoff won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Hip Hop/Rap Song for "Hotel Lobby."
In honor of his nephew, Takeoff, who was shot and killed as a bystander, Quavo founded The Rocket FOundation. Through uplifting and investing in interventions that effectively reduce community violence, the foundation aims to end gun violence in America. In 2024, the foundation implemented the SPARK grants, 10 grants of $10,000, to be awarded to high-impact organizations aiding in gun violence prevention and reduction in Atlanta.
