Rachel Estapa

Body Acceptance Advocate, Plus-Size Yoga Instructor, Founder & CEO of More to Love

Rachel (Rae) Estapa (she/they), founder and CEO of More to Love Yoga, is passionate about empowering people to love and appreciate their bodies. Her own path to body acceptance began many years ago. After yo-yo dieting throughout teenage years and into adulthood, Estapa realized she wasn’t happy. That’s when she decided to stop trying to change her body and instead focus on sustainable wellness. This was no small feat. It meant challenging standard ideas of beauty, health, and happiness. Estapa discovered how marvelous her body truly was and gradually learned that there is more to love beyond appearances. Training both privately and professionally in yoga, meditation, and body acceptance, Estapa began to fuse ideas and approaches to help larger bodies.

Today, Estapa is a faculty member of Cambridge Center for Adult Education and Arlington Community Education. They have partnered with Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston Public Library, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and many other prominent public institutions. She has been a vocal supporter of Massachusetts legislation to add weight as a protected class, testifying on the record to advance numerous Bills. Estapa was awarded the Schwartz Teaching for Diversity grant, offered by the Kripalu School of Yoga. Their work has been profiled in The Boston Globe, New York Times, NPR, Forbes, and many more.

A Boston native, Estapa lives in Somerville with husband Adam, and together, both own and operate Perception Optical in East Arlington, MA.
