Co-Founder & CEO of Last Mile Health

Dr. Raj Panjabi is Co-Founder and CEO of Last Mile Health and an Associate Physician in the Division of Global Health Equity at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital. At age 9, Raj escaped a civil war in his home country of Liberia. He returned in 2005 to serve as a clinician in rural government health facilities. In 2007, he founded Last Mile Health. Under his leadership, Last Mile Health has honed a community health model that has informed the Government of Liberia’s National Community Health Worker Program.

Raj has been ranked as one of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders by Fortune Magazine, is a Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation Social Entrepreneur, Echoing Green Fellow, and a recipient of the Global Citizen Movement Award. In 2016, TIME Magazine named him to its annual list of the “100 Most Influential People in the World” and President Bill Clinton described him as a “health care hero.” Raj is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, received a Masters of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and was a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital.
