Chief Marketing & Communications Officer of Mastercard

Raja Rajamannar is the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer of Mastercard. He is responsible for the world-renowned Priceless marketing platform, the company’s reputation and competitive differentiation, and driving business for Mastercard products and services. With over 30 years of experience, Mr. Rajamannar is a global business citizen with a rich history of innovation and business transformation across the healthcare, banking and consumer packaged goods industries. Prior to his role at Mastercard, Raja held senior management leadership roles at Citigroup, Diners Club North America, Humana and Anthem (formerly, WellPoint). Early in his career he spent seven years with Unilever. Mr. Rajamannar serves on the Board of Directors of PPL Corporation (NYSE:PPL) and on the boards of the Ad Council and the Association of National Advertisers.

Venkata Rajamannar Madabhushi, “Raja,” was named Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation and Marketing Officer at Humana Inc. in April 2009. His responsibilities included leading the company’s Innovation Center and Marketing function, as well as International Businesses, Strategic Analytics, Public Affairs and Corporate Communications. Raja was one of six direct reports to the President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, and he was a member of the Corporate Executive Committee, which sets strategic direction for the company.

Prior to joining Humana, Raja had 24 years of global business management experience, including 15 years with Citigroup. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of the GlobalCards division of Citigroup. At Citigroup, he managed the bank’s value, cash and rewards businesses, as well as the automotive and telecommunications sectors. He also headed the new product development and new payment technologies groups. From 2003 to 2005 Raja was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Diners Club North America.
