Raphael Bostic        

Economist, Academic, Policy Maker & Public Servant; President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta

Dr. Raphael W. Bostic assumed office as the 15th president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in June 2017. He oversees all bank activities, including monetary policy, supervision, regulation, and payment services, and serves on the Federal Open Market Committee, the monetary policymaking body of the Federal Reserve System.

Previously, Bostic held the Judith and John Bedrosian Chair in Governance and the Public Enterprise at University of Southern California's (USC) Sol Price School of Public Policy. Prior to that, he was a professor at USC, focusing on various research areas such as homeownership, housing finance, and institutional influence on policy effectiveness. He was director of USC's master of real estate development degree program and was the founding director of the Casden Real Estate Economics Forecast.

Bostic's governmental experience includes serving as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He also worked at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, earning recognition for his work on the Community Reinvestment Act.

Active in various boards and committees, Bostic contributes to initiatives like Georgia's Partnership for Inclusive Innovation and serves on Harvard University's Board of Overseers. He holds a combined major in economics and psychology from Harvard University and earned his doctorate in economics from Stanford University.
