Ray Wylie Hubbard

Americana Singer-Songwriter

Ray Wylie Hubbard, an American country musician born on November 13, 1946, in Soper, Oklahoma, has been an active singer-songwriter since 1965. Known for his outlaw country and Americana style, Hubbard has twisted the mystic, the quixotic, and the profane into songs for more than half a century. His journey has crossed paths with acclaimed artists, reflecting a love for life and a certain funky beat, as seen in his all-star projects "CO-STARRING" and "CO-STARRING TOO."

Hubbard's music blends country, rock and roll, blues, and folk genres. An example of his diverse collaborations is "CO-STARRING TOO," where he worked with Willie Nelson, The Bluebonnets, The Band of Heathens, and others, demonstrating his ability to work from the fringes while bringing the rest of us along for the ride. The post-Outlaw Country's take on what it means to be a man holding his own is a testament to his unique musical style. The album, a representation of Hubbard's romantic commitment to the ideals of the heart, was released in 2022.

Over his career, Hubbard has released an impressive catalog of albums, contributing significantly to the country music scene. This accomplishment earned him the "Songwriter of the Year" award at the 2018 Austin Music Awards. He is a member of the Lost Gonzo Band and has also penned a biography and memoir titled "A Life... Well, Lived."
