Redmond Ramos served as a Navy Corpsman combat medic with The Marines for 5 years. He served in combat in Sangin Afghanistan with 3rd battalion, 5th Marine regiment.

Redmond Ramos is one of four brothers who all served as Navy Corpsmen with the Fleet Marine Force supporting Marine Infantrymen in combat. On March 26, 2011, near the end of a combat deployment to Sangin, Afghanistan with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, a fellow Marine stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED).

After his military time, Redmond competing in track for team Navy as well as Team USA during the Invictus Games in London. He competed and won the CSB Sports competition "The Triumph Games", as well as competed on season 29 of "The Amazing Race".

Success Through Struggle

After stepping on an IED and losing a leg, Redmond's life could have gone downhill. Redmond refused to have this happen. He looked at his injuring at the greatest moment of his life. He was just given a second chance at life. A second chance to do anything and everything he ever wanted to do. "Success through Struggle" is a mantra we can all live by. It reminds us that we can use our struggles to help push us to greatest.
