American singer-songwriter and actor known for role on "Penny Dreadful"

Reeve Jefferson Carney is an American singer-songwriter and actor. He appeared in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark as the character of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. He is currently playing Dorian Gray in the Showtime series "Penny Dreadful."

At age 15, Carney was playing guitar professionally at B.B King's night club in Los Angeles. His second band, called Carney, consisted of Reeve, Zane Carney on guitar, Aiden Moore on bass and Jon Epcar on drums. Carney released their debut album, "Mr. Green Vol. 1", in May 2010. The band opened for Arcade Fire and U2 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on July 30 on the final date of the U2 360° Tour.

Since 2010, Carney has lived in Manhattan. He starred for 3 years as Spider-Man in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, which began previews in November 2010. The rest of the band performed as part of the pit orchestra for Turn Off the Dark. He played his final performance on Sunday, September 15, 2013.

He played Taylor Swift's love interest in her "I Knew You Were Trouble" music video. In 2014, Carney was cast as Dorian Gray in the Showtime series "Penny Dreadful."
