Actress Regina King's career includes memorable roles in films such as Daddy Day Care, Enemy of the State, and Jerry Maguire. She also left a lasting impression with her performances in Legally Blond 2 and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Dangerous. King's portrayal of R&B legend Ray Charles' backup singer and lover, Margie Hendricks, in the acclaimed film Ray garnered considerable praise and recognition.

In addition to her film work, King has also made significant contributions to television. She has worked on multiple television shows, including playing the leading role in the gritty cop drama, "Southland," and providing voice acting for the animated series "The Boondocks." Additionally, King's role in the Netflix crime drama "Seven Seconds" drew praise and earned her a third Emmy.

King's performance as Sharon Rivers in the romantic drama If Beale Street Could Talk won her the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. Some of her recent projects include the Netflix film The Harder They Fall, for which she won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, and the biopic Shirley about the first black congresswoman Shirley Chisholm. In addition to acting, King will also be producing this biopic. She is also set to direct the race-themed monster movie Bitter Root and the television series "A Man in Full" for Netflix.
