Renée James      

Chairman and CEO of Ampere Computing; Former President of Intel

Renee James is an American technology executive who was formerly the president of Intel. She is currently Chairman and CEO of Ampere Computing, a company that produces high-performance processors for computing, storage and other cloud computing needs. Renee also serves as the Vice Chair of the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee which advises the President of the United States.

James is also an Operating Executive with The Carlyle Group in its Media and Technology practice. In her role with Carlyle, James evaluates new technology investments for the firm as well as advises portfolio companies on their strategic direction and operational efficiency.

Previously, James had a lengthy career with Intel Corporation, where she was the President of the company until her departure in 2016.

In 2014, Ms. James was ranked 21st on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women in Business list, and she was ranked 45th on the Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women list.

She received a Bachelor's degree in International Business in 1986 and an MBA in 1992, both from the University of Oregon.
